Mothers love the sound of steady keywords like ‘doctor, manager, business owner and great pay’ when describing what their kids do. Inherently unpredictable labels like ‘writer, business starter, and student of a game’ lacks the social share-ability and leads to uncomfortable questions. It doesn’t mean she’s hating, disbelieving or overly self-conscious about outside opinions. Write it off to human natural phenomenon. Show and explain irrelevant things to people who want to understand and relate, even if they’re not your business partners, vendors, customers, associates, etc. Mothers don’t always know best, but they could.
